Problem: I can not install vmware tools either the 386.rpm or the tar file. The tar file complaind the g compilare are different version of the one use for the kernel. I tried different setups without sucess. I will spend more time with it but I wonder if any of you have already done it.
BTW the installation of opensue 11 went perfect and very fast. It runs almost as good as the real.
TIA

They are attached to a message (http://communities.vmware.com/message/982782#982782).
When I run rpm -Uvh command, I see that there is a conflict with various files from the open-vm-tools files.
When I try to uninstall using vmware, I get an error message "unable to find tar installer database file (/etc/vmware-tools/locations).
Is there a place where I could find the attachments, I have the same problem, nothing installs.
According to Novell, if you unstall the open-vm-tools, you should then can install Vmware tools.
But this failed for me.

You might try removing them with YaST, that worked for me. That way, it handles the dependencies.

I was using Yast.

Oops, my mistake. I thought you were running rpm from a terminal.

I tried the RPM file and the tarball to install. I found the uninstall..pl to uninstall it . I also tried YAST.
