We are implementing 10Gb for our VMWare environment and we have a question regarding SFP+ cabling. Specifically, we want to run “10 meter Active 10Gb Copper SFP+ cabling”.

This link is the support reference for the Intel X520 10Gb card we are putting in the VMWare servers. The page specifically says “Support for active cables requires Intel® Network Connections software version 15.3 or later.”.
So the question… Does VMWare vSphere natively have the intel network connections software version 15.3 integrated in to the hypervisor? Or probably more accurate... does the vmware hypervisor natively have the driver features enabled that are required to run the 10Gb active cables?
