    This script allows you to document the age of a VM, when it was created and who created if the information is available in your vCenter database and can be setup to run periodically to update all VMs in your environment.



    vCenter 2.5 or 4.0

    vCLI (Windows/Linux) or vMA 4.0


    Sample Execution:

    [vi-admin@scofield skunkworks][|]$ ./ --server


    The script will ensure the 3 custom fields are created before extracting the information and here is an example of what it looks like in the vSphere Client:



    You can create a report by selecting and de-selecting the columns of choice and then right click into the white area and 'export list' which allows you to generate csv or html report. Here is an example of an HTML report which can be updated on a local intranet.
