We are pleased to announce that vCloud Director Object Storage Extension 1.0 is General Available as of July 18.
VMware vCloud Director Object Storage Extension product enables cloud providers to bring their in-house & heterogeneous storage drives as a storage service and enables them to compete with public cloud storage offerings. More than that, this product will bring a number of valuable solutions for vCloud Director platform, e.g. backup and catalog sharing.
We'll keep leveraging this community for support and questions related to vCloud Director Object Storage Extension 1.0 usage, until further notice.

vCloud Object Storage team is excited to announce the beta launch of VMware vOSE R1 starting May 28th, 2019.
vCloud Director Object Storage Extension is a middleware that you install in your data center to provide object storage capabilities to the users of vCloud Director. vCloud Director Object Storage Extension registers as an extension to vCloud Director and runs on a Cloudian HyperStore storage cluster.
vCloud Director Object Storage Extension Beta Test period will last through the middle of July.
vCloud Director Object Storage Extension (vOSE) is a middleware that you install in your multi-tenant data center to provide object storage capabilities to the vCloud Director tenant and admin users. vOSE registers as an extension to vCloud Director and leverages Cloudian HyperStore storage cluster. The following diagram illustrates the components needed (and the relationship between them) to deploy and set-up a vCD based Object Storage Service.
In order to test vOSE beta in your lab, addition to the vCD stack you will need the following components.
