David Hunter Public Sector
David Hunter is VMware’s Chief Technology Officer for Public Sector. He functions as the senior technical liaison between VMware and the public sector community, evangelizing virtualization’s value to improving the business of government and education.
David also leads VMware’s Product Security Engineering Initiative overseeing various internal initiatives focused on secure development practices. He has over 25 years of industry experience having held senior engineering leadership and management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq Computer Corporation. David is the co-inventor on several U.S. Patents and served three years as a member of the Secretary of the Navy’s Reserve Force Policy Board. He holds a B.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Northeastern University, and is a graduate of both the U.S. Naval War College and the Joint Forces Staff Officer College. He is a current member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the College of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Northeastern University as well as the National University Cyber Security and Information Assurance Advisory Council.
