FROM THE EDITORS VIRTUAL DESK

VMworld 2016 in Las Vegas, the premier virtualization event has wrapped up. Customers, partners, bloggers and more converged on Las Vegas for what was the greatest VMworld I believe in the history of the event. The organization was exceptional, there were so many officials helping out at the event there was never any moment that I did not know where to go. I was privileged to have a number of my customers at the event this year who I hosted. As a TAM this is our ultimate responsibility ensuring that our TAM customers are well taken care of, attend the sessions that they are interested in and of course meet partners and VMware leaders.

There was so much going on during the week it is very hard to even come close to summarizing but over the next few weeks as the VMworld press is released I will do my best to provide as much of this in the newsletter as possible.

This week we also are releasing a new section in the newsletter dedicated to the VMware bloggers out there to coincide with VMworld. This is a section that used to be part of the newsletter but was removed however it is back now to provide an even more diverse view of our industry. Please note that this section may provide competitive or other types of news that may not be sanctioned by VMware.

I wish you a fantastic week ahead.

Mission Critical Support ‒ Onsite Support for Exceptional Escalations
By Neil Isserow

Dealing with support requests is something Technical Account Managers (TAMs) do on a regular basis. For the most part, they go according to a pretty well-rehearsed script. A Support Request (SR) is logged, a support engineer is engaged, the TAM manages the issue according to SLAs and customer requirements, and a resolution is provided. The case is then closed. I feel as though 99% of my support cases go this way, but sometimes an issue is so challenging and unique that a different approach is required. [Continue Reading...]
