VMWare Server (GSX?) support

This may be due to my naivete on the differences between the ESX vs. GSX products. My question is there any support for GSX Server in the VI Perl Toolkit? The documentation is slanted towards using ESX Server but never explicitly states that I can't do the same things connecting to a GSX server (at least that I have read so far).

The VI Perl Toolkit can be used to develop software for the VMware Infrastructure, which can include Virtual Center and the ESX Server. It cannot be used to develop software for VMware Server (formerly known as GSX).

Sorry for any confusion.

thank you. Is the limitation technical or otherwise?

It's a technical limitation -- the VI Perl Toolkit relies on the VI API web service, which is built into Visual Center and the ESX server but is not a part of VMware Server (GSX).

For VMware Server, I expect it to be similar as with ESX 2.5: Once it is controlled trough Virtual Center, it can be controlled by the VI perl toolkit.

I have to say, that is what I expect, I currently have no license to controll VMwareServer trough Virtual Center.
