I've seen this as well, even prior to installing Fusion. From what I've observed, the "airport" process is designed to run for a second or two, then terminate. I never have the problem at work, where there is only one wireless AP, but it happens just about every night when I start up at home with 3 APs, one of which is an Airport Extreme 802.11n. I know it's happened when I hear the fans. You can fix it immediately by clicking the airport icon on the menu bar, disable wireless, then immediately enable it again. Once stopped, it won't happen again until the next cold boot.
The problem seems to have started a couple of OS X updates back. I'd like a fix, but it's not a show-stopper.
