I have noticed that vmotion fails (complaining about failing to initialze swap file or something) when I do not reserve all guest memory resources tab.
Vmotion failes after 90%. Is this issue resolved in the newer versions (.01 etc). I'm still running the release version of ESX3 and VC2.
When I reserve all guest memory the vswp-file is 0 bytes, and vmotion is successful.

Any advice? (other than using iscsi/FC)

Do you have enough free space in your datastore ?
