alas, it seems this vmware image was not tested before it was uploaded, it does not know about the network and has no 192.168.0.* ip no. or dns setup, the vmware networking setings are also wrong, please advise as to getting at least basic net funtioning with dns lookup or we cant do simple things like install or update the ports etc.

im new to BSD and dont know linux that well so this image was got as a learning experience for makeing a freeNAS throm scratch but not looking good so far.

All images are tested before upload. This image is no exception.

Networking works perfectly, you just have to set it up (see below).

The goal of the VMware image is to provide a default install of an operating system, and it does this.
