I'm seeing the VMware Logo appear on my Guest VM's desktop and fade away several times after an OS has booted. Example is with SuSE Enterprise Desktop 10

Is this logo somehow always in a layer below the Desktop and makes appearances such as if the screen resolution is changed or if an X windows manager is started?

Thanks in advance for any hints.

This is the VMware Water mark, this should go away with later builds after F and F

Hi rcardona,

The VMware logo will no longer appear over the desktop once we add licensing to the product, so expect it to go away with the public beta.

Currently, for our unlicensed products (like VMware Player and the private beta of VMware Fusion), we display this logo whenever the guest does a major change to its display mode.

It was probably added pretty late in Player's development cycle, I would guess, but don't quote me on that one. :)
