Thanks very much, Robert. I appreciate your help, as always. I had searched the Forum and found the answer you provided, but it seemed to relate to earlier Vista releases and not specifically to RC-1. I should have tried it nonetheless. Sorry.
It seems, however, that I suffer a Blue Screen during every reboot or shutdown. Actually, I can't shut down the guest, as it blue screens and then restarts. The BS occurs right after the Shutting down screen completes. After the blue screen closes, the OS restarts and I receive the recovery information. The first line of the BS indicates Bugcode_USB_Driver. A sample of the codes presented by the reocovery information are as follows:

BCP4 changes from crash to crash. I'd be happy to send the crash log files if you want to see what they indicate. My uninformed guess is that it's stemming from the USB driver. I removed USB support from the guest. Afterward, the Shutting down screen lingered indefinitely. If I Ctrl-Alt, the guest shuts down at once.
Telfred, I'm not sure what you hoped to add to the thread. My post was more justified than yours, which provided no help, but only took up space. If you have something constructive to add, I'd be happy to learn, if you have any knowledge of this subject.
