THis appliance is broken. Both Player and Workstation
report the file snapshot1.vmsn is missing.

Just delete the current Freespire-1.0.vmsd file and a new one will be created when the appliance starts up.

If you are not using a gateway router or something running dhcp, then you will also need to assign and IP to the network card in Freespire once you have it up and running.

Got the same error but increasing the memory to 400mb seems to have cured it.

This was a note at the bottom of the download page:

***NOTE***
Sound MAY not work using VMWare Player with this release and has been disabled in this appliance(you may try it on your system). However the available .ISO is fully functional!! (http://wiki.freespire.org/index.php/Download_Freespire)
*******

I'm using VMWare Server and the appliance installed perfectly, but I can't seem to get any sound at all. The sound card is enabled and connected. Anyone get sound to work?

I have tried it today and encountered/fixed both problems as pointed out by other pioneers. I increased memory to 512 MB and Audio worked very well. I am using the HP laptop nx9420.

Seems like there is a loop in the download process. I couldn't find it.
