For beginners, would it be possible to get a step by step walk-through to get to the essentials of this software arrangement, starting with how to get the graphical interface and how to be productive quickly (for those of us working mostly under Windows).

The buildix vm is useful but has one major drawback:
Every file I build with it has the wrong timestamp. Without vmware tools installed, the vm clock will not synchronize. It's even worse when the vm is not always left running but after being suspended the clock loses exactly the amount of time equal to the suspension interval. In my case the buildix vm clock is now several days behind and continuing to get worse.

Can you please release this again with vmware tools installed?
