Worked straight out of the box. Perfect for me.

The URL on the notes submitted should be http://.../vhcs2 not vhsc2 as stated twice.

Otherwise great submission.

Are your domains correctly registered in DNS, with reverse lookup, etc.?

Configure your network interfaces:

#vi /etc/network/interfaces
  1. This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
  2. and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).
  3. The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

  1. The primary network interface
#allow-hotplug eth0
#iface eth0 inet dhcp
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.201
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.0.0
broadcast 192.168.0.255
gateway 192.168.0.1

Then restart it: /etc/init.d/networking restart

Just found a copy of it online, and I created a .torrent of it, and have uploaded it to some popular torrent websites...

Here are the links:

So I've decided not to use VHCS for a couple of reasons... First of all, it doesn't seem very easy to install.... There are install scripts out there that will do it for you, but none of them are updated for Ubuntu 9.04 or Debian 5.0.1. --Also, I ran across this article:

http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2006/08/15/vhcs-v2471-pro-do-not-use and many others I found on google by searching for VHCS HACK

So instead, I think I'll give SysCP a shot... It looks promising, has great documentation and installation guides, and it's being kept up to date:

http://www.syscp.org

However, I will still continue to host the .torrent files I uploaded earlier in case others want to still give VHCS a shot and use these VM appliances....
