Hello,

It is simple and easy;

You can find a YaST control center (a spaner type icon on the taskbar), click to it to open.
Once opened click the fourth icon (network icon) from left side.
On the right side click Network. It will open for you the network control center for configuration.
There you can see Already configured device (AMD PCnet - FastXXXX) Click to change it, if not found click configure then it will seach for the NIC.

Hope you can get through this.

Hello m.vd.hout

Please don't go for .ZIP because it will go up to 4.5 gb, you can search for winrar, install it and get it unzipped.

thanks,
Jaipal R

In YAST the AMD PCnet NIC is installed and preconfigured with DHCP. But there are still no network connections available.

sorry to ask a silly question but am very new to vm and SuSe.

I have followed the guide to config the network card with YaST but what does

Make file /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 --- do?

do i edit the file? i mean looking in /etc/sysconfig/network/ i can see a ifcfg-eth0 file which holds data but what am i to change?

thanks

The easiest way to do this is to go through the configuration tool included in the VM appliance.

1. Click on the wrench in the bottom of the display, that will start the configuration tool (YaST).
2. Select the 'network devices' icon on the left hand side of the YaST window.
3. Now click on 'Network Card' icon on the right hand side of teh YaST window.
4. This will bring up a 'Network Card Configuration' wizard.
5. Add the 'Other' network card the wizard displays at the top half of the display.
6. Follow the wizard and you should be ok.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I have set this up and can connect to it. The only issue I have is that when I try to ssh to it from the host PC, I try to log in with root, but it looks like it does not like the password.

But I can log on to it from console without any error. Is there anywhere I can check to permit its connectivity via ssh from the host pc

ok - how do I download a torrent when there are NO peers appearing?

Torrents suck for things that are less popular than movies

I was wondering if this is available as a direct download. The torrent file is never available because apparently nobody else with torrent is sharing this file. This VM sounds like a great oppurtunity to expand my digital forensics training, and I would love the ability to download it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah looks this is awesome to do many essential practice as a network admin.

But is this still available some where? The download link just does not appear.

Thanks
