The disk of the server looks broken.

Filename:
20060528-01_Internet_Cafe.tar.bz2

MD5 of my file:
453c529af4953811311211e6856ed669

HASH of my torrent is:
AC744210F0E8FC53293A95632D71806E520C9B8B

Anybody has the same problem?

I have the same problem with the one I got from BitTorrent. I grabbed it again, but have the same issue so it must be corruption in the archive.

If someone has a good copy maybe they can post another link to it.

If someone may be interested in checking out this appliance he may be interested in checking the "Rapid Mappit Resumator" inside the virtual appliances directory as well. The setup of the PXE boot server is described mainly for the purpose of doing a migration out of the virtual appliance onto a physical machine. But if you like, you could use this PXE booted physical machine ("full blown linux"; may even be diskless) as it is already even in an Internet Cafe...

bhanitzsch seems to post on every forum promoting his virtual appliance, but does not help with problems reported.

Azeureus reports this (Tamper-Proof Internet Cafe) image as being 1.39Gb and it's going to take 2 days to download!

It better be good!!!

Hello
Please let us try to stay correct. I spent a lot of hours downloading, trying and researching within different appliances to get a better understanding about where I have to expect my “Rapid Mappit Resumator” within the virtual appliance challenge. And I discovered some real interesting solutions. But furthermore I discovered also some brilliant appliances which are doing real useful things which could be done with the above mentioned appliance as well but are not explicitly mentioned within the appliance description. Just to mention here, if someone would try to fully describe the “complete functionality of the Rapid Mappit Resumator” he would not finish the next 6 months. Ok, he could reference onto man pages and documentation contained within the appliance and other resources out on the web (as I partially tried it). Therefore I felt it more than fair giving users searching for something a chance to find something which may match her purposes although not initially mentioned in the description. And I tried to formulate very neutral and carefully…
I bet there are more than a few people outside in the world which would be more than happy with this appliance (different usages) but are unable to recognize it in a fast fashion (as it would probably the case for me as well).
I do warmly invite everybody to post into the “Rapid Mappit Resumator” section if thinking his appliance may be interesting for others which are interested in my appliance.

“… but does not help with problems reported…”
If you got any problems or questions in relation to the “Rapid Mappit Resumator” please feel free to come back directly to me. I did setup an additional email address (rmr@oerties.com) and I shall be able to answer everything when I am back in Germany in a few days.

Kind regards

B. Hanitzsch

I downloaded the 1.39Gb file (not 869mb) (windows xp) using utorrent. Winrar opened the bz2 file but only gave me 42mb. Sooo ... I tried decompressing it with the bz2 decompressor - took ages, giving over 4Gb! I tried opening the tar-file with winzip ...but alas ... 42Mb. I even tried stuffit-expander just to be certain ... but something's not right with this file - looks like it hasn't been right for months and should be removed until fixed. Shame - I was really looking forward to seeing how it was all done as I want to use TFTP in linux for a pxe boot of DSL - but I'm not too clued up on linux yet and need all the help I can get. I can run the tftp server on a windows xp virtual machine easily enough - that works just fine. Back to the drawing board for me. Dav.

This download via bt is a waste of time - it's corrupt.

Did look interesting, but now it owes me 6 hours of my life back. Should be removed from the list. Irritated my enough to register just to make comment.

How it got 2 stars is beyond me...

"If someone may be interested in checking out this appliance he may be interested in checking the "Rapid Mappit Resumator"

well, yes I am... except there seem to be no seeds...

bittorrent is useless for long term stuff, get a proper site with proper bandwidth if you want your stuff to last.
