when I try to use this. Does it support the AMD dual core chip?

When they system is booting select > Solaris Failsafe

When you get the prompt to auto update boot archives select y

when you get the prompt

cd /
ls

we are looking for a file called reconfigure if it is there then

/usr/sbin/init 6

if it is not there then

touch /reconfigure

/usr/sbin/init 6

This should reconfigure the system to see your AMD processor.

touch /reconfigure
/usr/sbin/init 6

Ok lets see if we can force it to reconfigure /devives and /dev

This makes sure the file system is read/write

mount -f ufs -o remount,rw,nologging /devices/ramdisk:a /

Commands to reconfigure dev and devices

/usr/sbin/drvconfig
/usr/sbin/devlinks
/usr/sbin/disks
/usr/sbin/ports
/usr/sbin/tapes
/usr/sbin/audlinks

/usr/sbin/devfsadm -C

init 6

Hopefully this will force picking up the AMD processor.
