Yup ,as above ,horse for courses. We are an Emulex house.
We have LP1050 Emulex card throughout our entire organisation.
Just to put in to scale we have a dozen or so ESX farms with around 6-8 hosts in each.
We also use the LP1000/1050/8000 in our Wintel boxes (~1100).
So far no issues above and beyond wear'n'tear.
But again, as previously stated in other threads, there is no particular differences, people have had good/ bad experiences of both.
There is certainly no performance difference, no MTBF difference, beyond those marketing figures we all get pitched
