I'm new in the community and i want to installVMware Workstation 8 on Windows Xp Sp3 but it crashed before installing ...

I mean i have a dialog box wich said "script error " (the first image)

And then when i click either YES or No the dialog box set to a grey box .... (second image)

Have got an idea on how to proceed to install VMware Workstation 8 on my Xp sp3 ?

Thx a lot

Does there happen to be an index.htm file in the folder that you're running the Workstation 8 installer from?

If so, try moving the Workstation 8 installer to a different folder first.  If that doesn't help, perhaps try clearing our your %TEMP% directory.

This sounds similar to a bug that we had in Workstation 7.0 (see http://communities.vmware.com/thread/270450?tstart=0 ), but we thought that it was supposed to be fixed. (Are you sure you're running the Workstation 8 installer?  Are you upgrading from Workstation 7.0?)

Another user seems to have run into a similar issue - http://communities.vmware.com/thread/293926

Welcome to the Community,

the blank screen is often a result of a corrupt!? registry entry in the Internet zones settings

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\¬]

see discussion Re: VMware Workstation 7.1.3 Blank Installer in Windows 7 x64

If this does not help you may extract the installation package and run the installer (.msi) directly. (see my post in the same discussion)
