I recently converted my old PC running XP SP2 to run on my MacBookPro using Fusion. The VM starts up, allows me to log in but then asks me to activate XP. The system logs me off immediately after either choice and booting into safe mode results in BSOD. Any ideas?
I don't think xp activation has something to do with Fusion - how about reinstally the os - activate it then re install fusion and MAC os.

Are you serious!? Certainly at this point with the information presented by rbc410 thus far, suggesting that one "re install fusion and MAC os" seems ludicrous! No offense intended, it might be best for you not to reply with such outlandish suggestions when the information presented thus far does not warrant such drastic measures!

Is the version of Windows XP an OEM? Did it come preinstalled from the Manufacture?
If the answer is yes to either of these then that is in part the issue however OEM versions are not transferable and live and die on the original system installed.
It is an OEM of XP Home which still functions on the original machine. I have no intentions on reinstalling Fusion or the Mac OS as both are functioning normally. I have no issues with the other XP VM or with Windows 7 in Fusion. It just seems to be the one that I created from my old PC that is having the problem. I've seen a number of posts about activation loops but none seem to have the same issue as they will let you go to the activation screen after clicking yes to activate. This one just logs you out regardless of which option you choose.
