vShield App Licensing Question

Hi,

I've been trying to find an answer to this question, hopefully someone here can help me out.

As I understand it, vShield App is licensed on a per-VM basis which can be purchased in 25 VM increments.  From my experience using an eval license, it seems that all VMs on a host with vShield app installed count against that number.

Here is what I am trying to determine:

Is is possible to protect 10 guests on a host using vShield app and then run additional VMs on the same host in an "unprotected" state so that they don't count against my 25 licenses?  We really only need this functionality on a small subset of guests on a specific port group and it would be cost prohibitive to have to purchase a vShield App license for all VMs running on our hosts.

I've contacted VMWare licensing and sales and have yet to get an answer, can anyone shed any light on this?  I'd be happy to provide any additional information if it will help get this answered.

Thanks for your time.

Kyle
