vCenter host resources incorrect

I've recently installed ESXi 4.1 with vCenter 4.1 on an IBM x3950m2 fully populated with 8 6-core processors and 256GB RAM. The configuration tab shows 16 3-core processors. Of course the total of 48 cores is correct. However, when I install my license key, vCenter is allocating 16 licenses rather than the correct 8. Is this a configuration error on my part? A bug or know issue in vCenter? Is there a solution to correct this?

A query has also been submitted to IBM.

Thanks,

Gene

Hello.

You may need to go into the BIOS and the "Advanced Setup - CPU Settings" option and switch the cluster setting from Logical to Physical.  This was discussed in this thread recently.

Good Luck!
