how to make VMware ESXi4 smart shutdown

Dear All;

I have installed the free VMware

ESXi4 in one server. i connected this server with MGE UPS. I installed

vMA to use it to smart shutdown the ESXi according the attached

installation guide.

when i run this command from the vMA

shutdownESXi.pl --server 10.2.1.140 --username root --password password

i found this error:

SOAP Fault:

Fault string: fault.RestrictedVersion.summary

Fault detail: RestrictedVersionFault

End Disconnect

how to solve this problem?

Either enable SSH and use plink to request the shutdown, or use another method (google "script free licensed esxi").

If you enable SSH, can you issue the "halt" command?
