Unable to Install ESXI 4 on DELL PE 1600 machine

I was Unable to install ESXI 4.0 on DELL PE 1600 machine.(This machine had 2 GB RAM and 2 CPUs).It throws error as

"Module: install.tgz

Loading install.tgz...

Booting : MBI=0X000100C0, entry=0x00100212"

After that I changed RAM size to 4GB and number of CPUs 4.

Then also I got same error.

Please help.

later I changed number of CPUs to 2 and not 4.

I have the same issue with an intel 845 with a P4 processor and 2 GB ram

is the cpu 64 bit? ESXi 4 will only install on a 64 bit system.

Not seeing that server model coming up in the HCL or listed on the UWB systems list... What is the actual processor inside that server? Chances are, that's the start of the issues. Since it maxes out at 4GB of RAM, I'd wager the processor is not 64 bit, which means you have zero chance of installing ESX/ESXi 4. You might be able to install ESXi 3.5 onto the server.
