Strange Problem with the VMware Remote Console Plug-in

Hello,

I'm using Win7 64Bit as Host with VMware ServerVersion 2.0.2Build 203138. The VMware Remote Console Plug-in always wants to be installed even I have it already installed. It happens with every browser I've tried.

When I click to install the plugin it is removed, next time it is installed, removed ....,, installed .... the message remains:-(

Any Help?

Try running browser as Administrator. Maybe this will resolve the situation.

May be you have tried already .....better to check the browser settings.Clear the cache and cookies.

Sometimes system restart or restart of the VMware services also help in resolving this.

Re: Strange Problem with the VMware Remote Console Plug-in

I'm seeing the same problem.  Same VMWare server build number, and also a Win 7-64 host.  I keep getting the same "plug-in is not installed" message in Chrome and IE8.  I tried launching IE8 in regular and 64-bit mode, and with and w/o "run as administrator".  None of these made any difference.  I also tried clearing the cache and restarting IE -- no dice.

Just for kicks, I ran the console from within a VM, using Firefox.  The console was slow as hell, but it ran just fine.  Based on this, I decided to try installing Firefox (3.6) in the host.  In Firefox, I don't get the same message - I get the "Cannot access virtual machine console.  The request timed out." message.

That's three different browsers -- all failed, but it works fine from within a VM running on this same machine.

Ideas?
