Hi,

On a regular bases, the content for the specific thread doesn't appear to load.
Firefox 3.5.5 on Windows XP SP3

See screen shot.
After forcing the page to reload one or multiple times, the content finally shows up.
Am I the only one here with this problem... or is someone else seeing the same thing?

Hi Robert,

I'm not sure. Haven't seen it today, but I have seen it happen a few times since the new site has been online.
Will report it here when i see it again. The problem is that it isn't reproducable, sometimes it happens, then on refreshing the page the contents appears.
Very weird.

I'm getting a lot of this today on FF 3.5.4 (WinXP SP3):

It happens sporadically though so maybe it's not the content of the threads but some other dynamic content on the page.

same here with FF 2.0.2 - a reload of the page usually is ok

Well one additional note might be that I've only ever seen it happen on my windows machine.
It never happened on my linux box (which I use most of the times)

Yes, it still happens.

I also find it "interesting" that after a successful login, I sometimes just get back to the thread with the login/register button at the top right. Not until i force refresh the page it'll show the actual login.
There is NO other web site that i have this type of issue with, only VMware's forums.

Sigh, right now I have to refresh EVERY page on the forum 6 times before I get to see the details..
It is extremely annoying. This is the case for just forums threads, for documents, etcetera..
It doesn't happen for thread lists, but that's about it.

for me it is maybe every fourth page that does not load without a refresh

Hi Robert,

For the record, this still happens.. :(

Now the weird thing is that I do see this happening on my Windows XP SP3 VM in VMware Fusion 3.0 running Firefox 3.5.5 but I don't see the same problem using Firefox 3.0.15 on a centOS 5.4 box that basically sits next to it. I can safely say that it NEVER happens on the centOS box.
They are both connected to the same LAN, although the VM is using a NAT network connection on Fusion.

So.. in my curiosity I decided to start using Internet Explorer 7 on the "problem" XP VM.. and I've not seen the problem in this particular effect, however it has another weird side effect and like the Firefox problem I can "solve" it by reloading the same page.
Now I use this VM all the time and the problem only happens on the VMware community forums, so I'm doubtful that it is a problem in my VM, but hey.. who knows ? .. until we finally pin this one down and get a reproducable scenario for you guys.

So I will be trying a bit more to see if I can find out more about this strange problem by experimenting over the next week.

yes - it still happens - this evening I have to reload every second or third page to see the actual content

Could you please check on this again? I'm having this problem a lot on FF 3.5.6 on WinXP SP3, whether I can see a thread or not seems to be based on luck, I can reload ten times and nothing changes. However when I logout from VMTN the thread reads just fine. http://validator.w3.org seems to suggest there's a lot of unmatched tags (especially div.) in the source code which might be why the thread content is not visible on screen.
