I wonder why the new version per default uses
prefvmx.minVmMemPct = "50"
in config.ini and does not print this to the config.ini ?

That allows to run more VMs but is slower than the default of "100" in earlier versions.

... may apply to windows only ?

The default has been "Allow some virtual machine memory to be swapped" for a long time (I just tried with Workstation 5.5.x on Windows).
