Linux P2V fails with "FAILED: MethodFault.summary" posted: Nov 5, 2009 10:27 AM

Hi all, I am trying to p2v a linux machine and it failes at 1% with... "FAILED: MethodFault.summary" i have tried to convert the machine as is with no changes and with some changes like modifying the drive controller from keep source to the LSI SCSI controller and it still continues to fail. Has anyone else run in to this error and have any insight?

Check all the settings not just controller. Reduce memory and CPU count to a minimum 1 on the CPU. See if that helps. What Linux Distribution? Any unusual partitioning?

I tried that, no go, nothing custom. I have shrunk the volumes a bit, changed the sizes because I dont have enough space on the host to accomodate the entire guest.

Probably communication issue with your ESX host:
