If I have setup two VM servers running on a bridge connection with the same subnet on the same VMWare ESXi host, does the TCP traffic between the two boxes travel through the physical hub or does the Bridge intercept these packets and keeps the traffic internal to the host?

ESXi only has vSwitches, that is not comparable to a bridged connection like VMware Server or Workstation has. Yes, traffice between guests using the same vSwitch doesn't hit the physics.
