Just an update. I've been able to clone some of our other Windows 2003 servers without any major issues. Now the main difference between the p2v's that have worked is that they have been on either Dell (PE1850's) or IBM (X365) hardware, albeit quite old. The one that is causing me grief is a custom server based on a Tyan AMD chipset motherboard which uses a Silicon Image SiI 3114 Sata Raid controller and a 3Ware 9500S Sata Raid controller. The boot disks are controlled by the SII3114 controller in a raid 1 setup. The 3Ware controller handles the other raid set which is effectively used as a cheap NAS, well it was cheap back when it was put togher 4-5 years ago. Now the P2V handles the 3Ware volumes fine, but it fails when cloning C so I'm wondering if it's to do with the SII 3114 controller. Does anyone know if there are known issues with the standalone converter and SII Raid controllers?
