Windows 7 Pro X64 Host with same as guest. Dual monitors on host set to 1920x1200 each.

I want to see the host taskbar, so factoring the VMWare window and all, I use 1900x1050 for each monitor for the guest.

With help, I now call "VMwareResolutionSet.exe 0 2 , 0 0 1900 1050 , 1900 0 1900 1050" in a bat file for windows startup. This correctly enables both monitors but sets the guest monitors to 1920 x 1080, which is not what I want.

Is this the proper call to the tool? Tool not setting things right? Windows not playing right?

Thanks for assistance.

Are you sure you don't have "fit guest to window" option enabled accidentally?

I can't reproduce your problem (calling VMwareResolutionSet.exe with arbitrary resolutions seems to work fine for me). However, it wouldn't do what you want anyway. Since you're using fullscreen mode, the Workstation window would still cover your entire screen even if you reduce the guest resolution. You would not be able to see the host taskbar.

Oh, so you're relying on VMwareResolutionSet to enable multiple monitors in the guest, then, and you're using Workstation its normal windowed mode? (And I presume you're turning off the menubar and toolbar?)

Could you try running VMwareResolutionSet again and then uploading the vmware.log file from the VM's directory?
