Hi,
some of you may know the problem that you get an error 31A when you try to power up a VM with USB controller and the Sony Ericsson PC Suite is installed on your host PC.
When you look in the event log you see that the VMware USB Arbitraction Service can't be started because of an unknown driver - "seehcri" (which is a driver from Sony Ericsson).
Reason: Sony Ericsson PC Suite replace the USB root hub driver with its own.
Solution: Go to the device manager and click the USB root hubs and select "roll back driver" to go back to the original Microsoft driver.
After that you can start the USB Arbitraction Service and the Sony Ericsson PC is working too.
Best regards
Christian
Agree, I've found the same solution too
Driver seehcri itself is not a reason for the problem.
But Sony Ericsson mobile phones software installation replaces all USB Hub drivers with SE versions (WHQL).
To restore VMWare functionality you should roll back original Microsoft drivers.
Quite simple and effective solution.
Worked for me as well, thanks!
