Hola a todos

Os queriamos preguntar si sabeis si hay alguna novedad en la version 4.0 en cuanto a poder realizar snapshots de mscs? Hemos estado buscando en la documentacion de vmware pero no hemos encontrado nada.

Te preguntaba si habías viste el documento porque en el se describe, si no recuerdo mal, cuando usar snapshots en MVs y cuando no.

Un snapshot antes de aplicar partches es lo ideal, aunque si no recuerdo mal MSCS 2008 tiene alguna funcionalidad a valorar al respecto. En cuanto a utilizar los snaps para hacer backups, sinceramente, no te lo recomiendo ya que la funcionalidad de snap no sustituye un backup propio.

Pero el documento si que habla de los discos RDM en modo físico y en modo virtual, verdad?

Como tienes el RDM? En physical o Virtual mode?

Te lo pregunto, porque como muy bien sabras, para poder montar un MCSE (cluster in a box o un nodo en fisico y otro en virtual) necesitas poner el disco quorum en "physical mode" - esto no es compatible con snapshot o en virtual mode - es posible hacer snapshots.

Para poder hacer un backup de tu cluster, yo usuria el metodo de toda la vida. Usa una agente de backup dentro de la MV para hacer backup de las VMs.

PD. Commvault te falla muy probablemente porque el disco RDM esta en physical mode.

Okay bine hecho, ya nos cuentas cuando resuelvas la incidencia. Recuerda, asegúrate que los discos no son RDM en modo Physical, pues recuerda que estos no soportan snapshots.
