Dear All,

I'm new to vmware and vmware forum, i tried to install vmware esx 3.5 on my desktop machine, i'm getting some error "You dont have a supported hardware" like that. My Desktop config is, Intel dg31pr Motherboard, core2duo processor, 2 gb ddr2 ram, and my network card is realtek. pls tell what can i do for installing vmware esx3.5 on my desktop. i dont want to install vmware workstation and work. pls do me the favour.

Hi Suriya, unfortunately your hardware is incompatible,

use the VMware hardware compatibility guide here to verify which hardware you can use... it looks like VMware workstation v7 is what you need.

Hi,

Please refer this HCL list http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3.5/Whiteboxes_SATA_Controllers_for_ESX_3.5_3i.htm

To learn ESX 3.5 install it in VMware workstation for that you need VT supported processor

Hi,

Thanks for ur reply, i tried by installed it in vmware workstation also, but i;m getting the same erroe, i'm having core 2 duo processor.

Hi Suriya,

First check whether your processor supports VT http://ark.intel.com/VTList.aspx

What version of Workstaion are you using?

You need to do some changes in the VM configuration file(.VMX) refer guide from http://xtravirt.com/xd10004
