Is it possible to use proxy server(VMware Consolidation Backup) with windows 2008 server?

Yes, we are using VCB on a 2008 machine.

Yes, of course if you are using VCB backup. you will need to use VCB proxy to make the backup happens.

VCB proxy can work on 2003 and 2008 Server, and also on x86 and x64 architecture.
But be sure that also the backup program (if you use some other software) is compatible.
