Hello,

I have an ESX 4 Server and when I try to start it, the initialization fails on the step vsd-mount. I receive the next message:

You have entered the recovery shell. You can try booting in
troubleshooting mode (lo intenté y tambien ocurre esto) to attempt to
fix the issue. If that fails, you should contact VMWare techsupport.

/bin/sh: can´t access tty: job control turned off.
I try to fix this problems doing:

esxcfg-boot -p
esxcfg-boot -b
esxcfg-boot -g
esxcfg-boot -r

but not works, because esxcfg-boot is not a command in my esx (I can find another esxcfg-xxx commands, but not esxcfg-boot).

Can anybody help me?

Thank you very much,

The must be the /usr/sbin/esxcfg-boot command.
Do you have ESX or ESXi?
The VMFS volumes are online?

Have you see this post?
