Adding existing formatted luns to a new host posted: Oct 26, 2009 8:41 AM

Hey guys, I have a cluster with 2 hosts that can see the luns and have been able to see the luns for a year or more now. I just got another host, that I just built, and I just asked the storage team to add those other luns to the new host.

Obviously I don't want to wipe out the production servers on those luns, so my question is, what is the right way to add these already formatted luns to the new host without wiping out the data on them?

Thank you,

Matthew

rescan storage adapters, if the LUNS were presented to the host, they should show up after the rescan.

if you "add storage", but don't actually add storage, do they show up there? If not, they may not have been presented correctly.

see this KB as well, just in case
