Hi all,

We have a vSphere test environment (VCenter server 4.0 and a ESX 4.0 host) and we installed LCM 1.0.2 on it.

Installation succeeded but the ESX 4.0 host does not appear in the LCM infrastructure. When i try to search the inventory it only displays "VMWare Infrastructure 3.5" but there is no 3.5 host in the environment.

Are ESX 4.0 hosts supported in LCM?

Thanks in advance,

Marc

With LCM 1.0.2, you must register the VC 4 server in the VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3.5 plugin. You will need to restart the vCO service after registering the VC 4 server in the VI 3.5 plugin using the vCO web configuration utility.

LCM uses the VIM 3 API which VC 4 supports out of the box. However, this means a subset of functionality in vSphere. For instance, distributed networking is not supported with LCM 1.0.2.

Thanks.

Bill

Hi all,

I have that problem too.

I'm currently using vSphere and VCenter 4.0. My LCM is Beta 1.1.

I have added the VCenter in both VCenter plugin and Virtual Infrastructure 3.5 plugin in VMO. I'm still not able to browse my inventory.

Thanks

SL

Hi pslsgx,

What do you mean by not able to browse my inventory? Is this in VCO Client or in LCM Web UI?
Can you post screenshots of inventory and VI3 plugin configuration in vCO web configurator (the details page of the added vCenter) + server.log?

Regards,
Todor

I had the same problem, and I solved it following the Bill's suggestion (adding the vCenter 4 servers under 3.5 plugin): not so intuitive, but effective :)

Hi,

I upgraded the Orchestrator to 4.0.0.4439 and it's ok.

Thanks
