Hi,
I have an hp dl380g5 with an msa60 attached on a Smart Array p800 with 512 MB BBWC running ESX 4. One of the volumes is a RAID5 SATA with 5 500GB disks and another is a RAID1 SAS with 2 146GB 15k disks. For testing purposes i have only one Windows 2003 VM running, with disks both on the SAS and SATA volumes.
When i run IOmeter, my total disk performance in MB/s will range from 2 to 8 MB/s!!, which seems extremely terrible to me.

What can possibly cause this and is there any way to get this server to run faster?

Thanks,
Dennes
