VMware Workstation does not start due to symbol lookup error

Hi,

I am using VMware-Workstation-6.5.2-156735.x86_64 under openSUSE 2.6.27.25-0.1-default SMP 64 Bit.

After upgrading a lot of packages, which I cannot revert, vmware refuses starting with the error

/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-modconfig: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libgiomm-2.4.so.1: undefined symbol: g_file_io_stream_get_type

Rebuilding the kernel modules with vmware-modconfig --console --install-all did not help and I found no other solution to this problem yet.

Any help is highly appreciated!

I had exact the same problem with VMware-Workstation-6.5.3-185404.x86_64, openSuSE 2.6.27.29-0.1-default SMP 64bit.

Similar effects I had with some applications around mysql.

Downgrade to glibmm2 (2.18.1) helps.
