Hello all,

I've used VMWare Converter 3.03 build-89816 to upgrade my VMWare Workstation's hard drive size from 30GB to 50GB;. It has converted successfully; after conversion I've installed the VMWare Tools.

My problem is, the mouse stuck in the VM almost all the time. Especially when I move the cursor to top of the window, it stuck before reaching 2 or 3 inches of window top and it displays two cursors. One is from my host machine and another from VM.

Here are my machine configurations:

VMWare Workstation Version: 6.0.3 build-80004

Memory: 2044MB

Host OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600, Service Pack 2

To resolve this problem , I went through many forums and I could not find anything working for me. I've un-installed the VMWare Tools and re-installed without Mouse related functionality still it is doing the same.

Can anyone help me plz.

Hi,

You are running an old version of VMware workstation, you can freely upgrade to a newer version of 6.0.x or use version 6.5.2.

In your case I would upgrade to 6.5.2 and verify if you still have the same problem.
If that doesn't help then upgrade to the latest VMware tools.
Your VMs will not be overwritten or damaged during the upgrade and if for whatever reason the newer version doesn't work for you then you can always re-install the old 6.0.3 version of VMware workstation (if you upgraded the tools, you will have to uninstall and downgrade them again)

Of course taking a backup of your VMs is recommended, but it should not be needed. The only thing that might cause a problem that i can think of would be windows activation logic getting triggered if there are too many changes between reboots of your VMs.

hope this helps,
