Hello,
I have a system with the following spec:
1. Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2C
2. Processor: Intel Dual Core 2.5 GHz
3 Harddisk: 160GB
4. Memory: 2GB
When I boot the esxi 4 image from the CD drive, it always stops with message: "Failed to load lvm driver"
I have tried to disable the onboard NIC and/or USB Controller from the BIOS, but still no luck.
Please advise
Regards,
Rio
3) During the install you get the error: Failed to load lvmdriver
Unlike ESXi 3.5, 4.0 will require that a compatible network card be present in the host during the install. The IP address that the host obtains is used to generate a unique identifier for the host. Without a NIC that ESXi can use, it will stop with the error: Failed to load lvmdriver. To resolve this add a NIC like the Intel Pro/1000 GT or look at VMware's HCL or the white box HCL.

I am also facing the same problem. I tried by disabling the onboard LAN Card also. But still the same error.
Machine Configuration is :-
Make - Lenovo
Motherboard - G31T - LM
CPU - C2D 2.4 GHz
HDD - 160 GB
RAM - 2 GB
Please advise.
