I got my invite to the Enterprise Administrator exam the other day, booked in for the 4th of September fingers crossed!

However I have always wonderd, how many are there out there, I know it is a very high level exam and that it is hard to get, so I am assuming not a lot. However it's always good to feed back to my employers that what I am doing is worth it, and holds some weight in the grand scheme of things.

I would imagine that only Jon (jonhall) would know for sure, although Duncan (depping) might have an idea too.....

Congrats on the exam invite and good luck with it. I remembered a post from Duncan on his website http://www.yellow-bricks.com/2009/05/15/vcdx-award-dinner/ it has the first 8 VCDX's. I have not heard of more people obtaining the cert since that time so I would go with 8. However, I am sure that will be changing in the not to distant future.

Thanks for all the replies, the information will very handy for the company to know. -- Also thanks for the congrats! Knowing there are only 13 out there makes it feel even more like a great privilage to be invited on (obviously the pressure is now even more on!)

Personally I am just glad I have had the chance to take this further, and hopefully I'll be returning here with good news in the future!

The information on the number of VCDX's is great, thanks. Has anyone a breakdown on where they are geographicially? Specificially for my own needs, how many are in the UK & Ireland.

I found out this week I was the first non-vmware employee to successfully complete the VCDX process. It is not official yet, but I believe I am #16. I am sure there will be a few more following me, as Design Defense's are being held throughout the week.
