I have an issue whereby I am unable to see the update tab on my VC. The plugin has been installed according to the available tab in plugin manager but I am unable to see it on the install tab so that I enable it it. Other people in my team can, so I'm a little confused as to why this is the case.

go to manage plugins, disable it. restart your vc client. go to manage plugins, enable it, install it. restart your vc client. can you see it now?

best,
Joerg

hu?? you don´t see update manager plugin at available or installed plugins???? That is weird.

now go uninstall your vc client, re-install it and make sure you also install update manager plugin when asked for it. then try again.

best,

Joerg

Can you tell me a bit more about Update Manager?

Does Update Manager do Virtual Center Server patching/upgrade?
Does Update Manager do VI Client patching/upgrade?
Is it a holistic solution for patching?

Yes I know this. We have virtual center server running as a vm on our vmware farm and it basically needs to be upgraded first to the relevant update before you can patch the ESX Servers. This is the answer I was looking for.
