Hello Everybody

I have VI3. ESX3.5 update 4 and IBM Storage system.

Today I want to increase disk size a virtual machine System Disk (C disk). I mounted vmdk file another virtual machine's d disk, and increase the d disk size 50GB to 100GB.

Normally I make this methot more than 10 times, it's worked. But today I can't find my VMDK or VMDK-Flat file. I looked with putty and brows data store also. But Can't see the files.

Normally my Lun is 600GB. If my VMDK file stil in storage, I have just 300GB free space. But I have 400GB free space now. It's meen the vmdk and vmdk-flat file not in storage.

I also attached log files error screen shot on this mail.

What can I do now?

Thank you for yours help.

When you removed the disk from the other VM you did not accidentally chose "delete from disk" option?

post the output of "ls -lha" here of the directory,

You can also try to search for the vmdk ...

#>find -name nameofdisk.vmdk

make sure your root when performing the search.. you may have to cd over to the vmfs volume when your doing the search...

Sorry I meant after you had expanded the drive on the other VM. A few weeks back there was another poster who had deleted the files from disk after removing the drive he had temporarily joined to another VM for purposes of expansion. As runclear said you can try to find it. You also might want to check the tasks and events of the VM used to house the drive while it was expanded and the source VM just to see if there was an accidental deletion.
