Hi All,

i am managing my ESX3.5 using VI Client. i have created some virtual machies with diffrent combinations.

My query is i have to give access to my team menbers and i dont want then to give full access on my virtual machines i want that they should login to some local user account and copy my virtal machine and use that one only(they should have all rights to that virtual machine).

i tried this using VI Client ..... i am able to create one local user, i have modify the permissions but that is not working...... it either give full access or nothng just ony read access.

Can anybody help me out if it's possible using VI Client.

thanks.....

Do you have free standalone ESXi or centralized infrastructure with vCenter?

See if the process here helps - http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/assigning_permissions/assign_permissions.php. There was a bug (not sure if it is fixed yet) with ESXi 3.5 in which permission on a VM would not survive a reboot.

A bug hey...I have ESXi 3.5 U3 and does not hold the permissions, but this is a quick reminder when I need to do it again!

Cheers,

Dave
