I found this:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/237498-44-users-computer-tutorial-simplified

That tutorial is for vmware workstation, but is it possible to accomplish that with one of vmware's free products?

Trying out the player, I don't see any way to control which devices the guest and host operating system uses.

Thanks!
