Hello,

I'm making a lab on vSphere 4. I use 3 DELL Precision M4400 laptops configured like that: 2 with ESXi 4.0 in evaluation mode and 1 Openfiler for iSCSI Storage.

When I enabled FT on a shutdown VM with Windows Server 2008 SP2, the thick conversion ran properly and when it tried to create the secondary VM, I received the error message given in subject. The task details reports an error about MAC Address conflict.

As I run on Laptops, I have only one network card. Could it be the reason?

Thanks for your help.

Pierre

I ran SiteSurvey and it found a CPU incompatibility. So I will not go further with this test...

I have finally found the solution for this problem. I replaced the "VMXNET 3" network card by a "VMXNET 2 (Enhanced)" one. I works perfectly like that even with non compatible CPUs !

VMware
Yes, Vmxnet3 nics do not work with FT yet.

Vmxnet3 support for FT will come in a future release.
