2.0.2 build-59824 WindowsXP
I have problems using a scanner from the virtual machine. I enabled the parallel port and it says "the port is being used."
Can i use a parallel port scanner with vmware?

parallel0.present = "TRUE"
parallel0.fileName = "Auto Detect"
parallel0.autodetect = "TRUE"
parallel0.bidirectional = "TRUE"

Thanks all.

Yes, you CAN use it. But only one OS may own/use it at a time. Either the host or the guest, not both. Is there a process/software running on the host which is communicating with the scanner?

I think not

I tried to reboot my computer and directly open the virtual machine but I'm still having the same problem.

Now, i need to deactivate parallel from 'guest OS' if i want to use it on 'HOST'. So i think i need to deactivate it on HOST to use it on Guest, ¿right? But i dont know how.
